Problem

Core operations were spread across Jira, Confluence, spreadsheets, and third-party tools, which made payroll, reimbursements, leave, invoicing, and time tracking slow, inconsistent, and hard to trust.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesized stakeholder and user input to align payroll, reimbursements, leave, invoicing, and time-tracking workflows with business rules and team needs.
  • Led the overall product design from discovery to delivery.
  • Conducted stakeholder and user interviews to gather requirements and validate workflows.
  • Designed the full product UI, UX, and design system.
  • Created mockups and interactive prototypes for reviews and demos.
  • Contributed to frontend implementation and collaborated closely with PM and QA during testing.

Key Challenges

  • Supporting detailed workflows across payroll, reimbursements, leave, invoicing, and project-based time tracking.
  • Replacing long-standing spreadsheet, Jira, and Confluence processes with a system users would trust enough to adopt daily.

Design Decisions

  • Created a consistent navigation system across time logging, payroll, invoicing, leave, and employee management.
  • Designed separate but connected admin and employee experiences so each role saw the right tools.
  • Restructured payroll, reimbursements, and invoicing into clearer verification, approval, and review flows.
  • Established reusable patterns for tables, forms, dialogs, and status indicators to reduce the learning curve.

Impact

  • Replaced spreadsheet-, Jira-, and Confluence-based workflows with a centralized internal platform.
  • Automated payroll processing and invoice workflows that had previously been assembled by hand.
  • Simplified employee time logging, leave requests, and worklog review in one interface.
  • Reduced missed time logs through clearer summary views of completed and missing entries.
  • Gave admins a single operational system for employee data, rates, and reporting instead of forcing them across multiple tools.
